Reading Fill Blank
Fill Blank question 1/1:
Read the following passage, and answer the questions that follow. Write NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS from
the text for each answer.
Where do your personal values come from? They stem primarily from your social environmental factors
while you were growing up. It's impossible to categorise every possible determinant of your values.
let alone all the complex ways they interact. But they can largely be broken down into four key
elements.
The first and primary one is family. You're most impressionable as a child, so as a result, your
early familial experiences with your caregivers and relatives inform your sense of self.
Unsurprisingly the education system is the second determinant of your values. Your teachers play an
important role in reinforcing certain beliefs, attitudes, and behaviours. According to one study.
the moral influence of teachers makes the education system one of the most efficient institutions
for teaching human values to the next generations in the community.
A further contribution to the development of values is the community. As you interact with your
local community, you'll notice positive and negative reactions to your behaviours, like altruism or
selfishness. This will teach you certain lessons about right and wrong, informing your values.
Lastly, culture and society have their own set of dominant beliefs and values that they impose on
their members. People don't have to accept them, but they do set the groundwork.
