Paragraph 3: Contrary to these findings, in the study conducted by Tratnik et. al. [2019], student satisfaction levels in face-to-face and online courses were compared in the English language teaching field. As a result, it was determined that students were more satisfied with face-to-face classes. In summary, it can be said that a well-designed distance leaming environment is a course that emphasises interaction and active participation to facilitate leaming, preferably while maintaining student flexibility [Driscoll et al., 2012]. In addition, studies in the literature indicate that ensuring student satisfaction in distance education increases the success of both the institution and the student [Ali & Ahmad, 2011; Karataş & Üstündağ, 2008; Şahin, 2009). For this reason, revealing the factors affecting student satisfaction is very important for designing successful distance leaming environments.
